Pork wrapped in pancakes is tasty fun

This month I'm trying a version of classic Chinese dish. Mu-shi Jon is a pork preparation, wrapped in pancakes. It is fairly easy to make, although the pancakes can be a bit of a challenge. You can always purchase the pancakes from a Chinese restaurant and then just make your fusion Mu-Shi Jon. Making this at home is very tasty and fun.

Misunderstood Masterpieces: The Island

After his doctor's visit, Obi Wan goes to work and he complains about what's going on to his quirky lab partner (Star Trek: Voyager's Ethan Philips); Obi Wan's lab partner, meanwhile, has a bizarre algorithm that discerns that the lottery is, in fact, rigged. Oh really, dude? Then again, maybe he was cloned from the guy that totally pwn3d Press Your Luck back in the 80s. In another, segregated part of the lab, one chick goes into labor again, huh? so she automatically gets to go to "the island." Well, that's certainly incentive to get knocked up, isn't it? Obi Wan, using the impromptu birthing as a distraction, takes a little break from work and he goes investigating. In the gritty bowels of the facility, Obi Wan finds . . . Steve Buscemi! Dum-dum-DUM! Actually, it's not really that exciting, as they've been friends for a while and Obi Wan goes there to chat about living arrangements and to joke about Dr.

RSS FEEDS ON MSNBC.COM

Many MSNBC.com readers sent in messages in response to Lisa C. Cohn's most recent Chew on This column, which ran with the headline “Why raiding the fridge at night is a bad idea." Readers confessed about their struggles not to munch too much at night, and they shared plenty of practical ideas about how to curb the urge to splurge after dark.

Even more readers responded to our survey, which asked the question, “What snack do you crave late at night?" Here's the breakdown of how people responded: ice cream, 19 percent; chocolate, 11 percent; chips, 11 percent; popcorn, 11 percent; cookies, 8.8 percent; all of the above, 15 percent; none of the above, 24 percent.

Plenty of you “none of the above" folks wrote in and shared your tales of subsisting on nothing but cold water or decaf iced tea after dinnertime.

Sweet scent of recovery in West Quincy

Five months after a two-alarm fire tore through the famous Montilio's Bakery in West Quincy, destroying everything from ovens to counter tops, the city landmark has risen from the ashes. On Thursday, the sweet smell of cupcakes, cookies, and Italian pastries wafted down Adams Street once again.

"It feels good, it looks good, and our customers are happy," said owner George Montilio, 55, who scanned his store, well known for its gourmet wedding cakes, which have been featured nationally in magazines and on television.

The family-owned shop, established in 1947, also made cakes for the inaugurations of presidents John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush at the bakery's first location in Quincy Center.

In October, a fire ripped through its walls and ceilings, shutting the store down.

Cricket is hot but I miss Jamaica!

Yes! It has been great travelling around the islands looking for great places to eat for cricket. But it has been expensive. Jamaicans are very lucky. And right now, I am missing the land of the Blue Mountains so much, it's unreal. I want a breakfast at Dragon Lounge at Whitehouse, Montego Bay, so bad I can smell the aroma of the greatest liver with 'nuff' food smothered in the thickest gravy ever.

I dream of going to Kingston and hittingMarket Place at least three days in a row - Habibi Latino, Jewel of India and East. As I write this, I could cry thinking of Sunday brunch at the Contemporary Art Gallery on Old Hope Road and a delightful evening meal at Norma's On The Terrace, Devon House. The pumpkin soup, escargot (both with her magnificent bread), oxtail taken up a notch. To top it all, my mouth waters for the crme caramel as dessert.
